Submission and Obedience

Radical Submission

Everything in Subjection

Extreme, radical submission to Christ---bring EVERYTHING in subjection beneath His feet (Ephesians 1:22). It is from thoughts and concepts that actions arise. Our thought life untamed gives rise to the sins of the flesh.

"Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealously, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissentions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these.."

1. Faith is an action of the will. Wrong or faulty concepts about God, His attributes and ways or about people i.e. anything at all in God's creation limits one's faith accordingly. More fearfully, incorrect thinking also gives rise to unbelief, which is flagrantly opposed to God and hinders His will from being done on earth as it is in heaven.

Hence, He searches us out and exposes those most subtle remains of false, wrong concepts/thought patterns and habits that stem from our entire life, our culture, and our responses to them. Once exposed to our knowledge, we then confess and yield them up to Him, putting them under His feet. II Corinthians 10:3-5 says,

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive in the obedience of Christ.."

And, where they used to be, faith flows.

2. Faith is our life---"We walk by faith, not sight." Faulty thoughts are sight: misconceived ones. Faith is their opposite, a very real, tangible faith more certain than sight and eternal. Our breath, as it were, is in the realm of the heavenly.
