Submission and Obedience

Conservatism cannot save the United States. Only God can.

Self-termed conservative candidates running for mid-term election offices identify the issues they will correct. What they say sounds very right. They do list problems that need to be rectified in local, regional and national government.

However, they say little to nothing about God and the nation's need to come back to Him. America has an overwhelming need to seek His face and repent from our evil ways in order to return to the foundations of morality and righteousness on which the nation was established. Nothing less will solve our ills. No politician, however righteous, can accomplish that.

At the nation's founding, the Puritans covenanted with God to serve Him always. That is our foundation. With obvious intentionality, current leadership flaunts the laws of God in His face. The Ten Commandments, Bible reading and prayer in schools were legislated from society during the 60s. As could be expected, extreme lawlessness has taken over our land, and we are reaping God's judgment for breaking the covenant we made with Him 500 years ago.

"If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways (repent), then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14.

Nowhere has a national leader sounded a call to the citizenry of the United States to follow the instructions given by God for the healing of our country. It's not considered politically correct to honor God in the nation once dedicated to Him!

No one has called America to repentance. Or, if they have, the media has squelched their voice lest repentance actually happen.

Instead, the claims of political candidates identify the ills of our society and what THEY will do to correct them. God is not at the center of the equation.

They fail to recognize that unless the hearts of the people are changed and return to God with ALL their heart, all the laws and votes in the land will not correct the wrongs that exist and grow worse by the day.

Sadly, the Church in general became so entrenched in the politics of Trump that members link the righting of wrongs in society to his reelection. They pour their efforts into his being reelected, rather than shifting their attention--and ours--to God to heal our land. Cleverly, the devil has refocused the Church called by God's name away from His direction for healing. Thus, she has laid down her armor and minimized her power in prayer and influence in the world!

America: not the Church, no man, no political plank or candidate can effect the change needed in our country that only God can do WHEN we follow His order of things: humility, prayer, seeking His face and repentance. Until those called by God's name follow His instructions, we can expect the continued decline in morality and social order that we witness right now, leading to final destruction.

Thus, America has passed the point of no return. The faithful remnant must proclaim the Gospel while she can and win souls to Jesus while there is time.

Soon that window of opportunity will close. The end of this age fast approaches. We must not succumb to the distractions of the enemy of souls. We must be found faithful to the end, "... fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:2-3.

Stay the course, faithful remnant!

1. Conquering now and still to conquer,

Rideth a King in His might,

Leading the host of all the faithful

Into the midst of the fight;

See them with courage advancing,

Clad in their brilliant array

Shouting the name of their Leader,

Hear them exultingly say:

Not to the strong is the battle,

Not to the swift is the race;

Yet to the true and the faithful

Vic'try is promised through grace.

2. Conquering now and still to conquer,

Who is this wonderful King?

Whence are the armies which He lead

While of His glory they sing?

He is our Lord and Redeemer,

Savior and Monarch divine;

They are the stars that forever

Bright in His kingdom will shine.

3. Conquering now and still to conquer,

Jesus, Thou Ruler of all,

Thrones and their scepters all shall perish,

Crowns and their splendor shall fall,

Yet shall the armies Thou leadest

Faithful and true to the last

Find in Thy kingdom eternal

Rest, when their warfare is past.
