GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND FIRE!

"For I," declares the LORD, "will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst." Zechariah 2:5

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." John 15:7

Those verses mirror each other and declare the secret of living and walking in the Spirit. Think of it: When we abide or dwell in Christ, we hide in Him. The Psalmist said God is our refuge in Whom we hide; we run into Him and are safe. He is the wall of fire around us to protect us and keep us pure from the wicked influences of the world and the devil.

By the same token, when we hide the Spoken and Written Word of God in our heart and have His laws and precepts written there by the indwelling Holy Spirit's baptism, the glory of God resides within us. We are His temple. He is fire, holy fire, purging fire, cleansing fire, energizing fire that ever burns but never consumes the consecrated offering of our will, our heart, our mind to make and keep us pure to Himself as ready instruments for His purpose.

What a precious inheritance we have: God Himself! He has chosen to live within those who cherish Him above and beyond anything else. He says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:8

And Jeremiah 29:13 says, "You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you" .

In these Last Days filled with hypocrisy, lies and deception, we must be surrounded by and filled with the glory of God. His voice must be so sweet and familiar to us that untruths cannot fool us and we have the grace to stand against them. "Having done all, stand."
