The Church....Asleep!
Molech in Hebrew means "king." Molech was the name of the idol god of the ancient Ammonites to which human victims, particularly young children, were offered in sacrifice.
The image of Molech was a hollow brazen figure with the head of an ox and outstretched human arms. It was heated red hot by a fire within the belly. Then little children or infants were placed in its arms. They burned slowly until they dropped into the flames, while the sacrificing priests beat drums to prevent the parents from hearing the dying child's cries.
After years of disobeying God's commandments, precepts and laws, the Israelites adopted Molech to be their idol King. Israel and then Judah denied the true God as their only God, using Him as a figure-head when it was convenient (Acts 7:42-43).
After finding their remains, archeologists estimate that Israel and Judah sacrificed thousands of babies and children. Sadly, America alone has sacrificed 61 million babies by way of abortion! If Israel first and then Judah went into captivity as divine judgment for the killing of their offspring on the altar of an idol, does America deserve even worse punishment for her great sin: Convenience of abortion on demand!?
God is not deaf! If Abel's blood cried out to God after Cain killed him in jealousy, don't you think the blood of 61 million aborted babies deafens His ears with their cries? He hears and He will answer. His longsuffering is wearing thin and divine retribution is about to fall. Will the Church waken and return to God by forsaking her idols so that He may postpone His judgment? That is doubtful.
Israel is the pattern America has followed. Trace Israel's history through the Old Testament. She adapted more and more to the pagan nations around her until Molech slid into place alongside her other idols.
When prophets were sent by God to try to turn Israel and Judah back to God, they were killed. And, when final judgment was declared by prophets like Jeremiah, false prophets who predicted that everything was going to be alright scoffed at their words and condemned them. The same thing is happening today!
The Church is asleep and doesn't want to wake up. She may turn over if someone shakes her, but true repentance from her idolatry must be forthcoming. She is too comfortable and satisfied with the status quo. If the watchmen are asleep, where is the warning to our nation? Wake up, Church, before it is too late!
